Peter Carmichael
I bought a job lot of 4 10 litre cans from Latchmere Motor Spares. The 10 litre cans get used a lot and my single 20litre can doesn't get used much at all. You can carry 10 litre cans in the seven, but there is not really anywhere practical to carry a 20 litre can. darren f
And not forgetting officially youi're no longer allowed to fill up 20L cans on filling station forecourts. I think 10L cans are still ok though. Having said that I haven't been stopped with a 20L can yet, but have twice recently seen over-officious pump operators prevent people filling up unapporoved containers. darren f The Building of R300SEV is Here
Tricky
You also require a funnel (and a chum to hold it) which is long enough to open the flap inside the filller. Tricky Academy 2003 Group 1 Number
Luke Beaumont
Nah Tricky, just get one of the flexy spouts that clamps on to the jerry can. Much easier.
Peter Carmichael
Also punch out the stupid flap in the filler neck and then you can fill at a very high pace.
Nifty
Jerry cans secondhand are around £25 for 4 from John Craddock LandRovers in Cannock...delivered to your door. here The flexible filler spout is around £5 from same (or was when I last bought one) and is well worth every penny, particularly filling a 7. The limit for filling a can on a forecourt is 20 litres according to the Shell station at Attleborough, however, I have never been stopped from filling 2 or 3 cans at a time. Keep off the straight and narrow 😬 Edited by - Nifty on 7 Oct 2003 06:16:
Graham Perry
Nifty, and if they do moan, just say you are engaged in agriculture, as the fuel carrying limits do not apply to Farmers and Forresters, for obvious reasons.
