OK ThanX for the starting point. Off to Brands on Monday so the info will be helpfull. According to Steve Polley when I picked the tyres up this PM the "M" compound is between A032 "S" & "SS". I'm expecting 4K miles from the set, does this sound realistic? Tricky Academy 2003 Group 1 Number 5

Can anyone give me a starting point for dry tyre pressure on the A048s for trackday use? Tricky Academy 2003 Group 1 Number 5
  3. 80 sounds about right Charles. Its when the gauge is heading 85+ that you should be concerned. Now you've bleed the system run it until the rad fan has been on three times make sure there are no air locks. Mine sits at 80 all day unless on track. Did you fit t he Changeover switch to read oil temp as well? Tricky Academy 2003 Group 1 Number 5
  4. You also require a funnel (and a chum to hold it) which is long enough to open the flap inside the filller. Tricky Academy 2003 Group 1 Number 5
  5. .... and the buckle has 5 clips, 2 at the top for shoulder straps one at each side for the belt and one underneath for the crutch strap Tricky Academy 2003 Group 1 Number 5
  6. .... and another thing. With everything "off" remove the earth led from the battery. Conect the multimeter in serise with the battery (on the current range) and the earth lead. There should be zero or very little curent drawn less than 0.1 amp. Anything more and you have a fault. Don't forget to remove the meter before doing anything else. 9. My Academy car came with the Caterham & X-power badges for the back but I bought the black "Super 7" logo for the NC. You have to look under merchandise and badges. Goes with the car's silver/black colours 😬 Tricky Academy 2003 Group 1 Number 5
  10. I vote for a "Spotted" section to please Barry. Tricky Academy 2003 Group 1 Number 5
  11. Franky, There is a Charity event at Snetterton on the 23 November. So if you are in the mood and are willing to fork out £10 for 3 laps then I'll see you there... The format is outlap, hot lap, inlap. Not sure if you paid for two goes if the organised would agree to outlap, 4 hotlaps, inlap but I can't see why not. I belive this includes helmet hire. Normally a trackday passenger would pay £20 for helmet and upto £10 for "registration". Just a thought..... Tricky Academy 2003 Group 1 Number 5
  12. It's very noisy down here for a "Test Area". I liked the poetry very much, thank you one and all! Tricky Academy 2003 Group 1 Number 5
  13. To remove the buckle from the fixed belt: 1. Find a bradle! (or use a grinder to butcher a small screw driver). 2. Look at the back of the buckle and locate the small hole closest to the fixed tang. 3. Insert the bradel into the hole and press firmly to release the locking pin, then pull the tang out. remove the buckle to the warmth and comfort of your kitchen table an tinker away to your hearts content 😬 Tricky Academy 2003 Group 1 Number 5
  14. There was a thread back in july/August about a chap who had some half doors made up at a cost of £60 pair. I'll try to find it. Tricky Academy 2003 Group 1 Number 5
  15. Hi h________, Yes I remember our conversation now! The Foam seat is a messy business and truth be told it takes three people to do it properly (or so the Caterham race suport team tell me). I was advised to go for foam, the kit is £30 and takes an hour or so all told but looks very heath-robinson. I chose Tillets. If you are after Tillets then you might try the 2003 Academy drivers as some have changed to foam. If you are coming to Brands for the festival come and say hello, we are racing at 09:00 sharp for Grp 1 and 10.00 for Super Grads. Tricky Academy 2003 Group 1 Number 5
