Area Representative manningpaul Posted May 6 Area Representative Share Posted May 6 I have just had a set refurbished and looking at a new set of bolts etc. The old ones used a washer and nylon nuts but I have been advised to ditch that and use a plain nut with threadlock ? What are people's opinions or experience?? Regards Paul.
OldAndrewE
All the split rims I have had used nyloc nuts without problems.

Jetto
Which bolt type and length are you using? Been thinking of refurbing my set too. For what it’s worth I think the nuts on mine are locking k-nuts
Leadership Team SLR No.77 Posted May 6 Leadership Team Share Posted May 6 I’ve had replacement bolts from SRR Hardware, if I recall correctly they’re M7 x 32mm although one set of wheels I have originally had 40mm bolts. The SRR supplied nuts are plain nuts with a serrated flange which I wasn’t happy with so I sourced the correct washers and Nylocs as per original. Stu. Area Representative manningpaul Posted May 7 Author Area Representative Share Posted May 7 All sorted and thanks for the info, just wanted to make sure as they are quite an important component !! I did expect about six different opinions though 😁.
