You can do that and it will nicely quote either the whole of the post of interest or a selected part (and trimming is an excellent habit). It's one of the big improvements of the new site. But BigCol is asking how you do the second! There are two tricks.: 1 To quote a post go to the post and use the ... Share action. This will give you the URL. Then go back to where you were and insert that URL. 2 To quote a thread get the URL from the menu bar and insert that. You can do this from multiple sources into the same new post. And when you do any of these the items inserted into the new post shows not the URL but a clipping of the source which includes a live hyperlink. Jonathan PS: On the old site it was possible to do something similar with a screenshot and a hyperlink. But the new functionality is much better.
BigCol
Excellent - many thanks. My issue was that I look at BlatChat as an app, rather than in a browser, and couldn’t work out how to do what has been suggested from there!

One thing I have noticed that as well as trimming (which I have obviously just done) it is possible to actually alter the quote to make it look as if something different was said. This is not such an advantageous benefit! 😱

Jonathan Kay Posted Wednesday at 15:06 Share Posted Wednesday at 15:06 Ha Ha! Has anyone cajoled the software into multilayer quoting? (This connects to inadvertent loss of context.) Jonathan
