Area Representative Steve Wright Posted March 5 Area Representative Share Posted March 5 (edited) I have a 1996 1600cc K-Series road car. The speedo has seized solid. It occurred to me that people sometimes fit a Stack system and may have the original speedo lying around in their spares box. There are alternatives out there but I'm trying to keep the car as original as possible. Thanks Edited March 11 by Steve Wright Simplify

I didn't think to do a search 🤔 I'll investigate further, these look interesting: http://www.jdo1.com/speedos.html
DirtBuddha
Pretty sure I have a spare Caerbont from a 2000 (ish) era K Series car if that's the same?
Fyldeflier
I recently had problems with my Speedo. it went to JDO and was re built there. Very reasonable price and it was turned round in less than a week.I know speedy cables are good but I think the speed of turnround for repairs is glacial! John. Area Representative Steve Wright Posted March 6 Author Area Representative Share Posted March 6 OK, apologies. I should have said that it's a cable driven speedo rather than a later pulse driven one. Still looking.....
Area Representative Steve Wright Posted March 11 Author Area Representative Share Posted March 11 Just to wrap this up and for anybody else in the future, I decided to go with Caerbont Automotive instruments: http://www.caigauge.com They are a continuation of the original manufacturer, Smiths Instruments. The sales person was very helpful in identifying an exact replacement complete with square edge pre SVA bezel, Caterham logo and trip meter reset cable. The part number is SN5234-16 - There was actually a paper label on the original speedo and this helped identify the correct part. It's approximately six weeks for them to build one, they don't keep them in stock. Price at the moment is £309.30 including VAT and postage.
