Castrol SRF brake fluid

I do not know about the fluid being aggressive on seals but SRF must be a bit OTT for a half ton car with good brakes ? Surely DOT 4+ would be sufficient for a Seven on track if you want a high temperature fluid ?

My car had Castrol SRF when I bought it and it certainly enables a very firm pedal, more so than any other fluid I've used.

I believe it's more hydroscopic than other fluids though so should be replaced more frequently, I heard comment of every 6 - 12 months but that might be inaccurate.

Castrol recommends change every 18 months for SRF, but it is less hygroscopic than other performance fluids such as Motul RBF 600 or RBF 660 in particular. I normally use RBF 600 and change every spring before the first track day (many track organisers here that require a tech checklist to be completed specify fluid no older than 6 months).
