JP
I'm about to fit a load of dots on my new boot cover and I saw this on Amazon for £29.Anyone tried it? Given the cost of the proper tool, this appears to be a bargain...if it works...

Area Representative Golf Juliet Tango Posted August 20, 2023 Area Representative Share Posted August 20, 2023 At £29 it is cheap enough to buy one to see if it works well.
JP
Thanks #3, but I'm in SW London! I have the dish and punch tool but I thought this would be an easier option, if it works...Might take a punt if no-one has any experience...

ScottR400D
I own the tool near Norwich, which is loaned out at the mo. All I'd say is it's chalk and cheese compared to the punch and block. Easy to use, very consistent. Very even and firm crimp. The one shown earlier looks well worth a try though.
JP
Thanks #8. I saw in the previous thread that you're not keen to mail the tool - I can understand why! I've taken a punt on the Amazon tool and I'll report back with my experience...
ScottR400D
I see no reason why it wouldn't work well. It operates on the same principle and should be fine.

SM25T
Up to £35 already. BlatChat orders probably triggered it.
JP
So I finally got round to fitting the poppers on my boot cover today and I can report that the tool above works very well. The only shortcoming, if there is one, is that the hole that the punch makes in the material is not quite big enough for the popper neck, but that is easy to enlarge with a punch or similar.
