Doc007
Does anyone have a good solution for a removable oil cooler cover for the individual lower oil cooler as used on Duratecs? I find my car runs cool on the road so cover it up.
jbcollier
If there isn't an oil thermostat, fit one.
KnifeySpoony
On the modern dry sumped cars, with the oil tank up front, apparently an inline thermostat only gets you a few degrees warmer. Blocking the cooler will likely be more effective.
graearea
funnily enough, I was thinking of making a clip on cover for my oil cooler. not sure if it'll work yet if it's made out of PETG which _should_ be able to cope with 110degC
Doc007
I might get my son to 3D print something that clips over the front. Is 110degrees the maximum temperature the oil cooler gets to?
Member Jonathan Kay Posted August 12, 2023 Member Share Posted August 12, 2023 I was thinking of 3D printing for this. Could clip on and off. Could have shutters and stay there all of the time...Jonathan
