Danieltiffany6
I’m looking to remove the baffle in the immediate future and having searched the forum I am reasonably confident that I have the knowledge, tools and capability to do this job. The only aspect of knowledge I am missing is the torque setting for the bolts that hold the “Windage Plate” to the Crankshaft Ladder. Searching the forum has come up with values ranging from 10 to 30 NM. Please could someone advise me of the correct value? Also, should I use any thread lock on these bolts? Thanks in advance. Leadership Team SLR No.77 Posted March 1, 2023 Leadership Team Share Posted March 1, 2023 From memory they're M6 nuts so 10Nm is more likely. I use thread lock on these.

Area Representative Tin Man Posted March 2, 2023 Area Representative Share Posted March 2, 2023 If you are using the the old type gasket it may pay to drill two or three holes in the wide section to help drain the oil back in to the sump.
