7" headlights upgrade to LED

REPLY to #4: Thats right. LED bulbs can be fitted to a light, not originally designed for them on any car older than 1986.

"The MOT rules have been clarified from 22.3.21 to allow the use of LED conversions that pass the beam pattern tests for headlights for Class 3, 4, 5 and 7 vehicles (car, private bus and light commercial vehicle) first used before 1 April 1986 and all class1 and 2 motorcycles of any age."

At that age (1969 Lotus 7) you're MOT exempt anyway. I used properly clocked and shaded LED bulbs in my '73 BGT. Its MOT Exempt, but I have the car "inspected" to keep it safe and compliant every 12 months anyway...

If its younger, you have to stick to standard bulbs in the original units, or upgrade to suitable sealed LED units, E-marks etc and correctly adjusted to comply...
