I've no wish to be harsh, but I think the lesson to be learned here is, if you have no knowledge of the topic under discussion, it would probably be prudent to withhold your "advice" and simply sit back and learn from those that do have the knowledge.

I can understand that, as someone relatively new to Caterham ownership, you are keen to impart your expertise, but I'm sure it would come across in a more convincing and constructive way if you were to be more, shall we say, understanding in your contributions.

Please don't take this as a criticism in any way, as I'm sure that, with your technical background, you have a lot to contribute to TechTalk.  But it's worth bearing in mind that the membership here has a vast and unparalleled knowledge of our funny little cars.
