Bumble Bee
I have CC's high level 3rd brake light kit (for use with spare wheel) & I have this neoprene bullet shaped part that came with the kit. Can't work out what it's for, can anyone help? (polite answers please!)Thanks, Phil.

ACFowles
I successfully fitted my Caterham high level brake light a few months ago. That piece of neoprene is still sitting on my desk.Did you get the sub-loom as well?https://caterhamparts.co.uk/looms/345-sub-loom-high-level-brake-light.html?search_query=sub+loom+high+level&results=149I found that it does make the wiring easier and neater
Bumble Bee
Hi AC, thanks for replying. I'm glad it's not just me unable to work out what to do with it! No, I haven't bought the sub-loom yet, as my 2008 Roadsport has 2 unused female spade connectors which come from the offside light/brake cluster & which I hope I can connect the new brake light into - though I haven't tested that yet. If these unused connectors are not for a 3rd brake light I'm not sure what else they could be for? Pic below.
Member Jonathan Kay Posted September 6, 2021 Member Share Posted September 6, 2021 What colour are the wires?JonathanPS: Unused cables in the boot are likely to be for either an additional brake light or an accessory power supply. An instrument light feed has also been spotted.
Neil220
I think its an insulating/waterproofing cover for if you have to cut, strip, twist and solder wires together to make a connection, a bit neater than wrapping with insulating tape. Although I'd have thought a couple more wouldn't have hurt!
Bumble Bee
Jonathan, One wire is green/purple, the other I think is grey. My car has an accessory power supply already, so I'm hopeful the wires will be for a 3rd brake light. Thanks Neil, still not sure how to use the neoprene bullet, I might just keep it on my desk too...! Member Jonathan Kay Posted September 6, 2021 Member Share Posted September 6, 2021 Green/ Purple should be brake lights, and Black an earth.Do you have a multimeter, and would you like a wiring diagram?Jonathan
