Tyres (yes ... again ...)

revilla

Recommended Posts

Hi John, I haven't tried ZZS. I had R1R then for the last few years T1R. The fit of the R888R is pretty much identical to the T1R (both Toyo, both 195/50 R15 82V). I can get my fingers in to the knuckles between the tyre and the edge of the wing all the way around, and between the tyre and the wing stays on the inside on both. That's about as scientific as my measurements for I'm afraid!

Seems to be plenty of clearance and today I put about 60 miles on them in the dry. They feel good.

I've not heard of anyone telling their insurer and ive never heard of anyone having a problem over that, so I very doubt it, should be OK (I've had three different kids if tyres on my car since I got it, not even sure what it had originally, probably no-longer-available CR500). Who are you insured with? Most of the specialists just accept that within reason, Caterhams are modified.
