John Vine
Andrew, how is the fit under the cycle wings compared to the ZZS?JV
revilla
Hi John, I haven't tried ZZS. I had R1R then for the last few years T1R. The fit of the R888R is pretty much identical to the T1R (both Toyo, both 195/50 R15 82V). I can get my fingers in to the knuckles between the tyre and the edge of the wing all the way around, and between the tyre and the wing stays on the inside on both. That's about as scientific as my measurements for I'm afraid!Seems to be plenty of clearance and today I put about 60 miles on them in the dry. They feel good. John Vine
Thanks, Andrew. Don't know where I got the idea you had ZZS!JV
Beagler
If I fit a set of ZZS's will it affect my insurance as they are not Originally fitted.
SM25T
Do you tell your insurer every time you fit a different brand of tyre on your tintop ?
revilla
I've not heard of anyone telling their insurer and ive never heard of anyone having a problem over that, so I very doubt it, should be OK (I've had three different kids if tyres on my car since I got it, not even sure what it had originally, probably no-longer-available CR500). Who are you insured with? Most of the specialists just accept that within reason, Caterhams are modified.
Beagler
My previous tin tops have all been new so not changed tyres for yonks. Insured with Adrian Flux. Ok thanks guys will go with the zzs.
Leadership Team SLR No.77 Posted September 26, 2021 Leadership Team Share Posted September 26, 2021 On a car type that often does less than a thousand miles per year they'll probably just be happy that you're buying new tyres! Stu.
