7oaks Posted June 26, 2021 Posted June 26, 2021 I've undone the self tapping screws from the interior panel and the knee panel wont budge.Any advice, not sure how delicate or not I need to be to shift it?
K7 VCT Posted June 26, 2021 Posted June 26, 2021 Mine were very tight but just need to wiggle it, maybe stuck to the panels a bit , I slid a very small paint scraper between panels.to free it, carefully not to scratch black finish.
Area Representative Paul Richards Posted June 26, 2021 Area Representative Posted June 26, 2021 Should be fairly easy to remove. Could be that the holes in the panel have "turned" and are catching. Try inserting a screwdriver blade to gently prise the panels apart.
7oaks Posted June 26, 2021 Author Posted June 26, 2021 Thanks both, the knee panel and the interior panel were stuck together by the burring from the self tapping screws (I think). On one side I used a claw hammer! to lever apart and on the other side I pulled out the rubber trim between the two which unstuck the two panels, second method I would say is better.Once unstuck the panels wiggled out quite easily.
Doc007 Posted July 1, 2021 Posted July 1, 2021 I cut the end off the driver's side knee trim panel. The bit that butts up to the bulkhead. It makes the process of removing/installing so much easier as there is room to move it back/forwards.
