chaucercaterham
Hi allI'm a new member and newbie Caterham owner. I'd like to polish the side exhaust. Does anyone have a specific polish they'd recommend and have found to work really well? My exhaust is in pretty good condition without too much discolouration (pic attached). Any thoughts or experiences on how to get a perfectly polished exhaust would be very welcome! Thanks very much Nick

The two people I know who are experts on this subject are:- https://www.lotus7.club/users/markiebabesStephen Long:- https://www.lotus7.club/users/stephen-longI use Autoglym products predominantly but inexpertly! There are articles on polishing in the LowFlying archive. http://lowflying.lotus7.club/lowflying/search.jspThere is a Category called "Polisher's Corner". TomB
I use Autosol for the exhaust, seems to do the trick and widely available.

7 wonders of the world
When I had a painted car I used Meguiar's 3 step deep crystal - the (step 3) Carnuba wax really brought the colour out and can be used on rubber trims, tyre walls and glass with not white residue - which is why I stopped using Autoglym....and smells lovely too

sylvaman
Hi ChaucerC, I too am relative newbie , Enjoy your car. I found some brilliant stuff for the exhaust at a car show last year. also available on Fleabay. It is apparently what the American truckers use on their Big rigs for the Stax etc ...takes the heat well.Does seem to hold a shine, before discolouring, longer than Autosol and Autoglym.Although a lot more expensive , approx £18 for 355 ml. Only a small amount is required and a great shine if polished off with microfibre cloth. I guess expensive because it is brought over from the StatesIt is called White Diamond . Cheers, Chris

Area Representative Geoff Brown Posted June 18, 2020 Area Representative Share Posted June 18, 2020 Miroxol is a good metal polish. Using an electric drill & buffer head brings the shine right up. Don't forget to protect the body from splats! There is a club discount as well. 100ml tube = £5.95. Normal RR £8.50. Also a deal on multiple buys.https://www.lotus7.club/membership/special-offers-members/miroxol-metal-polish

ianRoadsport120
I use Solvol metal polish and wire wool. Give a really bright silver finish. Follow it up with some Meguires metal wax and it lasts for a good few drives.
