Collidog
Noticed that the throttle cable ‘stay’ as it enters the pedal box is quite loose.Should there be a corresponding part that it clips into on the inside of the pedal box:Thanks a lot
SM25T
No ... just tension of throttle return spring
Member Jonathan Kay Posted April 2, 2019 Member Share Posted April 2, 2019 There's a reply to your earlier question.JonathanPS: Did you ask again because you couldn't see it in "New and Updated"?
grumpy the 7th
Just incase you didn't see the last replies,The stay is a bayonet type fixing, so you could try twisting the flat wings on the outer part of it to see if the body latches into the housing. Also as SM25T says adjust from the throttle body adjuster.
Collidog
Thanks all. Turning it does not enable it to bite on to the pedal box housing. As SM25 said - seems to be held there by the cable tension
steve osbaldeston
I drilled a small hole and put in a self tapping screw just into the metal housing that it sits in.

ScottR400D
I’ve seen lots that are loose. Common solution is a blob of silicone.
Nigel Riches
It may not "click" as you have some sort of sheet metal edge protection / grommet in the hole, if the channel for the fitting is only sheet metal wide I would remove the grommet, it may then click into place. Just a thought.Nigel.
Caesar
Pull it back, superglue, get wife / partner to sit in car for 5 minutes with foot on throttle pushed down (cup of tea / glass of wine). SORTED
SM25T
It's not broken... it doesn't need fixing
revilla
Agreed. They are all like that. It may seem odd but it works. Leave it alone.
