TomB
While taking my plus and leads out for work on the engine, I noticed some brown rust like marks on the spark plug contacts. I’ve cleaned these contacts with a small wire brush. Looking down the HT leads I can see brown residue and I’m thinking this could impede a good spark. Has anyone found a good way of cleaning these contacts? I’ve wondered about some 1000 grade wet and dry wrapped around a drill bit, but think ideally a small brass pipe cleaner or something similar would be perfect. Has anyone ever found a good way to clean theses contacts?
SM25T
Maybe try a pipe cleaner dipped in switch cleaner ? Or just the abrasive effect of a drill bit pushed into the contacts and out by hand a few times.

Wrightpayne
Carefully aimed thin screwdriver used as a scraper - might need your head torch!Or some scouring pad clipped into artery forceps. Ian
OliverSedlacek
I wouldn't get too hung up about HT contact resistance as there is typically several thousand ohms of suppressor resistance in the leads or plugs.
