Oil and water

Did a track day last week so thought prudent to give the oil and coolant a refresh, check and clean plugs etc. For the coolant (1.8k, radtec radiator, remote thermostat, no heater) should I open up the bleed valve (on the joint where the heater inlet and output once was) as I fill it or fill the coolant and then run until warm and then open the bleed valve? I'm going to replace the thermostat as well as seems daft not too and very easily accessible with remote housing?

Paul. Don't have the bleed valve open as you fill it. Fill via header tank and then replace cap. Then top up slowly via bleed valve.  As you have a remote thermostat it should be fairly straight forward with less chance of an airlock than with the normal thermostat set up.
