Roll bar bolt size

Hi

Can anyone confirm the correct bolts size to go into the main roll bar hoop from underneath  (from near the top of the rear damper mount) please? Turns out mine are missing. 

1999 imperial S3 - FIA single diagonal roll bar.

The Assembly Guide for my 1998 says 5/16" x 1".

This discussion doesn't agree... 3/8" UNF or M10.

And this discussion points out the same discrepancy and concludes 3/8" UNF.

NB half thickness heads to give the clearance below.

I'm fairly sure they are 3/8 UNF, but have the head machined thinner.

You can get them from the usual suspects pre thinned and are then plated so they wont rust. Only a couple of quid each so not worth the effort of getting them machined yourself unless you happen to have a lathe I would say.
