James.Burton
Did anybody try mounting them up front? Maybe:- Combined on the back of headlamps?- Convex mirrors on the front cycle wings?
Member Jonathan Kay Posted August 26, 2017 Member Share Posted August 26, 2017 "(e) except in the case of a mirror which, if knocked out of its alignment, can be returned to its former position without needing to be adjusted, each exterior mirror on the driver's side of the vehicle shall be capable of being adjusted by the driver when in his driving position, but this requirement shall not prevent such a mirror from being locked into position from the outside of the vehicle."Jonathan
ScottR400D
Well, I can't do that with my mirrors on the outside of the doors. I guess it's why they have to be on the stanchions for the IVA?

James.Burton
Thanks - I guess that means nobody's done it.
Leadership Team Toughie Posted August 27, 2017 Leadership Team Share Posted August 27, 2017 I have two whopping big blind spot mirrors mounted above the front suspension. They came with lights fitted to the front of them.Re adjusting the door mirror, if I open the 'elbow flap' of the side side screen I can just about tweak the mirror, though doing it on tight bends is a bit hairy 'coz I spill hot tea in my lap. James.Burton
I'm in Austria, and have 70s style "bullet" mirrors out on 3 dangly legs.In theory great (apart from the fact I can't fold the door open. Have to hold it as I clmib in. Serious first world problem...).In practice they get knocked by passers by having a quick look in when I park up. Always twisting those legs. Area Representative manningpaul Posted August 27, 2017 Area Representative Share Posted August 27, 2017 My old Series 2 had mirrors on the top of the flared wings. They were in a tapered housing which made them quite aerodynamic and not look out of place, Have to admit they weren't great as they were too small really. Ian B
One of these stuck in the lower corners of the windscreen are great when running with no doors (and wind deflectors), and are still useful as blindspot mirrors when doors in place.https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01LVYKEZY/
