Tyres (again) AO48

I know that this has been raised a few times recently, but I need to replace my 2 front tyres - currently AO48. As they are now no longer E-marked, I see that 2 of the most obvious replacements are either Nangkang NS-2R or Toyo R888R tyres. Does anyone have experience of both of these that would offer a comment?

It's for mostly road use with occasional trackdays on a 1989 Crossflow Supersprint.

R888 are better for the seven than A048. You don't get the tram lining as the side walls are softer.

No experience with the other (my experience with A048 and R888 is with 14" wheels)

I  run R888 13" med compound.I haven't tried the R888R but hear good things. Same as 48's in the wet maybe slightly better. 

Agree with the above and having run A48s Toyo's do ride better,not as stiff on sidewalls!

If you wanted to try a set I think my Trackday wheels have some "road life" left  or just track them .
