Air box, obstruction and remote brake reservoir

Hello All

The reservoir for the brake is in the way of the air box. I have modified the air box, how ever the mouth of the trumpet of cylinder 1 is slightly obstructed by the airbox modification.

By slightly, i mean about 5-6mm high and around 10mm from the mouth of the trumpet, it is more like a step.

The air box is a Autoteknix unit in GRP

I understand that it is not a ideal to have an obstruction

How much this obstruction is hurting cylinder 1?

A way to remove the obstruction would be to fit a remote reservoirs for the braking fluid. The only place i could fit it is below the master cylinder

Can a remote reservoir be fitted below the master cylinder? What effect would it have on the braking?

Or i could raise/ tilt the engine..

What would you do?

Thanks for your help

Jack

Hi Guys

Thank you for the giving me ideas.

I'm working on removing the step and creating a smooth curved.

To do that, I am using news paper and PVA glue instead of fiber glass and resin to test the modification of the air-box vs position of the reservoir and mouth of the trumpts.

The idea behind using news paper and PVA glue, is that it should be fragile enough to brake if it force upon the reservoir or the mouth and it is a lot easier to remove and start again

When I get the ideal position, i can then fiberglass the box shut

Doesn't look very pretty but should work when finish
