2GBR
Angle grinder with 1mm disc for cutting and a permagrit block for shaping and finishing Wear a very good quality mask as carbon dust is very very nasty stuff and leather gloves as a slip with the permagrit block could be a cut to the bone
Member Jonathan Kay Posted May 11, 2014 Member Share Posted May 11, 2014 *arrowup*And the dust is explosive. What's the current recommendation for respiratory protection for occasional exposure such as this? Jonathan

Area Representative paul richards Posted May 11, 2014 Area Representative Share Posted May 11, 2014 Gilbos (as used for cutting sheet metal) are best for cutting carbon sheet. No dust. If necessary you can smooth edges with emery cloth, but as already said beware of dust. Edited to say:- Use a blunt drill for making holes. A sharp drill will cause splintering.
