Mavic82
So, decided it is time for some new harnesses on the seven and for a number of reasons to me that means Sabelt. Plan on 6 point and went to order 3" shoulder and waist belts with a T piece crutch belt. Seller said was I sure as most Caterhams go for 2" waist belts. Never really thought of this before as my race cars were all 3 and 3. But having checked my current caterham harnesses they are indeed 3 and 2. So any views on that? Secondly they normally supply a V crutch strap! Not sure I want to sing that high but the T only comes with clip fastening rather than bolt so do others use a V type or do other brands do a bolt in T crotch belt? So I went from decisive to indecisive in 5 easy minutes. Views greatly appreciated Thanks
Angus
Hi Guy FWIW my 6-points are 'v' and I have never had any singing problems ! Seriously when properly adjusted you dont notice them. I am a great fan of 6-point, much more comfortable on long journeys than 4-point especially with leather seats as you dont keep sliding down the seat. Mavic82
Thanks Angus, good feedback. I don't have an issue slipping down the seats but want to stop submarining in an accident and prevent the buckle riding up to high.
Dave Allen
Guy. Scroth do belts with ASM technology here They can be 4 or 6 point.
Mavic82
Thanks Dave, but the crotch strap has the same issue it is a hook type fastening. Will that work with the bolt in fittings?
Area Representative Richard Price Posted March 31, 2014 Area Representative Share Posted March 31, 2014 Guy, I have a set of Schroth like these here The adjust very easily but don't slip, however, it does take a little longer to thread everything up. elie boone
Luke can do a harness to your requirements, phone them discuss what you want then you ring one of their dealers and ask them to phone Luke and deliver your custom made harness.
