virden
I have a Wolf Sioux compressor which has worked well until now, it will not start, when I pull the in/out kill switch, instead of starting I get a steady electric humming noise. The rotor is free to move, and the pump turns over easily by hand so it has not seized. Suggestions please.
Stijn LUYCK 1
Does the motor have a startup capacitor ... if so that one might be faulty.
AJC
Sometimes a valve that ensures on starting the pump is not pumping into an already filled chamber ....if that makes sense....usually a ball bearing type thing.

ECR
Or, if it's particularly cold, the oil in the compressor may need changing to a lighter spec ...
