andy_h
What do you call good money? Could you send me a link to your ad or is it too old now? Thanks, Andy
Z3MCJez
I might be interested in a "Young Sport" if you have one in grey. Or shadow, I think they call it. They're available from £110-£130 now. Jez
Wrightpayne
Hi, Advert too old now to retrieve (60+ days) - IIRC it went for £83. Just watch a few on Ebay - you'll soon get an idea of price. We had 4 - 2 in each car so they were only used 1/2 the time IYSWIM. 2 went to some friends and the last one is saved for my niece who is due imminently though it'll be stored for a further 9 months! Ours were definitely £200+ new (Young Sport) but they seem to be quite a lot cheaper now, new. Mankee
Hmm. I think we need some Recaro seats! But our little man is only just over 5 months old and I've not looked into what Recaros are available at what ages etc. He looks a little big for his current car seat, but that might just be me being a panicky first-time dad? Z3MCJez
Thanks Andy - I'll pass as I will need one in the same colour to avoid sibling fights I don't actually need it for another year yet either, so this was always going to be opportunist. Z3MCJez
Mankee You won't need these seats until your little man is c. 10kg (9-13 is the overlap). And he must be able to sit unaided before you switch from a rearward facing. Rearward is generally safer, but my second couldn't deal with it. My first stayed in rearward until he was nearly 13kg. However, I think the "Young Sport" are really well put together seats. Only disadvantage over some of the other Recaro range is that they are not compatible with ISOFIX. But I don't think that many (any?) that go beyond age 4 have that functionality. Jez Edited by - Z3MCJez on 11 Feb 2014 09:23:
andy_h
The Recaro Start says 9 months to 12 years (9-36kg 150cm tall). We have the optional extra Recaro Impact cushion for when 9-18kg. I'll dig out the details/instructions for the Sport.

Irish
Perfect thread to jump in on (sorry for the hijack). How did you find the recarros? I have to buy 4 seats (2 for Dublin and 2 for London) but this whole second stage bit has me baffled. As the twins are 6 months it is time to get serious with the research. andy_h
We bought them new for our twins. We got them from a specialist baby/pram type shop. We found them perfect and much better than other seats we looked at, which is why we got them. They have much more support for the kids to fall asleep and not slump sideways etc. The 'Start' seat uses the seatbelt to hold the child in, whereas the 'Sport' seats use the 4-point harness until they get too big, and then you can remove the harnesses and use the seatbelt. The 'Start' has speakers where you can plug in but we never used it. Let me know if you need any more info or more photos. Cheers, Andy
