You are 1 week too late with your question See My Post I had my sender on the bench last weekend and checked the sender was working by testing the changing resistance with position. Sorry I did not not the values. On my crossflow it was very easy to get the sender out, no need to empty the tank.

Fuel gauges expect a sender to work in one of two ways, which I think are as follows:

 

90 Ohms empty to 0 Ohms full

or

20 Ohms empty to 265 Ohms full

 

The sender should be matched to the guage, but these values should help identify what you have, if it is not working properly.
