rynicolson
Earlier this year before I disappeared off to the Arctic I had a big meeting with a stone in Mutley - resulting in a leaking sump... my second such experience. Can anyone remind me what I should get for replacement in terms of parts (note sump plug took much of the hit) FWIW it's a 1600 SS engine / wet sumped with appollo): So I buy: New Sump Sump plug & washer Gasket I have a spare foam baffle already Am I missing something? Just before I order... and yes I know that you can in some instances repair bent K series sumps... but I want to put new on.... cheers Richard
myothercarsa2cv
If it took that much of a hit, you may also want to replace the fixings and check the engine mounts too?
Stationary M25 Traveller
Oh no .... not the foam

rynicolson
thanks all - engine mounts etc seem ok (I actually managed a track day the day after the hit - with some botching to the sump...) so I assume I haven't missed anything out and should order that lot listed in my initial posting only? Nigel - I reused the gasket last time so may treat the car to a new one! Edited by - rynicolson on 11 Oct 2013 23:19:
mav
Top 3 look fine to order. Don't bother with the foam Richard, remove it and don't bother replacing it.
