Caterham Kid
Can anyone tell me which spark plugs that I can get from Halfords I can use in my 1.8 K series? The current ones have very little or no identification on them. Just a number (which I don't have to hand). I am presuming the current ones are the original rover ones. Nick Green
NGK BCPR7ES if my memory serves me correctly
Mark Durrant
NGK BCPR7ES and buy them from a local motor factor as they are normally cheaper than Halfords
Mankee
I use NGK BCPR7ES in my 1.8K. You might be able to get them cheaper from motor factors so probably worth checking.
Stationary M25 Traveller
Wow ...... Three replies on BC that agree unanimously 😶🌫️
Caterham Kid
Thanks. I knew the power of BC would come through quickly! The only problem is I can't find NGK BCPR7ES on the Halfords website. I can find NGK BCPR6ES. I will have to find my local motor factors. Unfortunately all the ones near me I knew have closed down and I dont know any near where I work either! Mark Durrant
Try Langley Motor Factors as I always found they had what I needed when I lived in Sutton The NGK BCPR6ES operates at a different temperature to the
Stationary M25 Traveller
Look on line for a compatibility site and enter the NGK part number, then look for Champion or other makes ? Otherwise ... plenty on eBay which would be delivered fairly fast.
Caterham Kid
Thanks Mark. I will try them. I knew that 6 runs at a different temperature to 7 but I can't ever remember whether 6 is hotter or colder than 7!
Mark Durrant
I am not sure on the difference in temperature and I would avoid Champion as they did not work well for me
Mankee
I used the 6s in a previous engine which was a mildly tuned 150bhp 1.8K with no problems.

Graham D
Unless your engine is producing 200+ bhp, just go to Halfords, look up MGF and away you go.

Anton
I use NGK PFR6N-11 in LE0 - 2003 1.8K 140BHP - and buy them from Jayar Car Parts, Unit 6, Horatius Way, Silverwings Industrial Estate Croydon CR0 4RU on the old Croydon Airport next to the tennis courts. Pack of four cost me £27.84 in June. This type has worked OK for the last 60,000 miles or so.............changed at 12,000 mile intervals.
