Neal
Hi all Just a quick question. In order to connect to an Emerald K6 on a modern laptop (no serial ports) do I need both a USB to Serial adaptor and the Emerald-specific cable, or will just the USB to Serial cable on its own suffice? Many thanks Neal
Titanium7
I think you will be needing one of these here

oilyhands
You need an Eaysync adaptor and the Emerald 9 pin rs232 cable, nothing else will do. Oily

Titanium7
On my laptop I find connecting the Easy Sync adaptor first to the PC and giving the computer time to recognise it (it flashes a few times) and then connect the serial lead (already connected to back of K6) to it ensures that the K6 is seen every time.
