  1. Thanks Dannyboy - and apologies for being a clown!
  2. Dannyboy you have a PM - with apologies, my powers of recollection are poor! They are actually 14" wheels (have amended original post). Best Neal
  3. Pair of chrome headlights for sale in nice condition, taken from a previously-owned 1997 S3. I'm after £30 ONO. Pictures available on request. Collection from Petts Wood (BR5 postcode) or GONADS preferred, although I could post at cost if required. Message me or call 07947 606906 if you'd like more details Thanks Neal
  4. Hi all Just having a bit of a clear out, and have a set of 14" minilite-style alloys (x4) all with tyres for sale. They are De Dion fitment I believe (they fitted my old De Dion car, anyway!) The wheels are in very average condition (lacquer peel etc) but hold pressure well. Tyres are old, with life left in them, but only really suitable for track/drifting. Tyres are Avon ZV1s. I also have a couple more 14" tyres I'll throw in as well! After £120 ONO for the lot. Collection only (or GONADS) from Petts Wood, BR5 - easy striking distance from the M25. Pictures available on request - message me or call 07947 606906 if you'd like more details. Neal
  5. Have a bump from me Smithy - my old Seven looks great. Sorry to see you're selling up - what's next on the car front?
  6. Ha, I quite liked how "cammy" it was before, but sounds great now too.
  7. Thanks for that, sounds superb, and very pleased the car is being well looked after and used properly!
  8. Sounds like an excellent result Pete - what's peak power now? Previous owner (before me) had the same experience with the airbox (when the car was mapped by Emerald) hence why I never ran it with the airbox (I also liked the noise!). I did 4-5 trackdays in the car like that and never came close on noise limits, so you should be fine for induction noise.
  9. Hi Pete I never touched the ECU settings but did adjust the cold idle on the TBs up as it was idling extremely low and lumpy when cold, after the car had been sat for a while. In the end I put it down to a bad batch of fuel/the car having been sat, as after the next fill-up it came up, smoothed out and I adjusted the idle back down slightly to the setting it is now at. All this was early this year. I'm pretty positive that the notion that I've fiddled with it (albeit sensibly!) doesn't cheer you up, but there we go
  10. Hi Pete Just read a couple of your recent threads (and learning a lot about my old car!). Have you tried adjusting the idle via the idle adjustment screw on the throttle bodies? More just to see what it does then once warm. As to an overall solution, I suspect it would be something Emerald can sort quickly as part of their work, if you can't track it down. Cheers Neal
  11. Now sold - hope the new owner enjoys it!

  13. Thanks Tom, it’s on about 29800 miles, red with twin black stripes. I'll get some pictures up asap. Thanks Mark for the message, just replied
  14. Thanks Mark - it's a shame but I'll be back!
  15. Hi all Due to an expanding family my Caterham is for sale. It’s a 1996 S3, which has been comprehensively upgraded in pretty much every department, as follows: Engine, drivetrain etc 1.8k series (VVC head) with the DVA Power “K06” upgrade. For more details see here http://www.dvapower.co.uk (parts also listed below) 5 speed Emerald ECU Mapped by Dave Walker to 185bhp Jenvey throttle bodies with Pipercross filters Piper cams (VVC blanked) Mocal oil cooler R500 triple pass radiator Apollo anti-cavitation system Limited-slip diff Widetrack Caterham 4-pot front brakes AP Racing brake bias valve External battery cut-off switch Staggered fit (6” front, 8” rear) Caterham superlight 8 spoke alloy wheels, with Yokohama AO48 tyres (soft compound) Professionally flat-floored for a 75kg driverExterior Raceco Titanium exhaust (repackable) Carbon front cycle wings Rear carbon wing protectors Carbon front and rear light pods FIA roll bar (single diagonal) plus driver’s door strut Black pack Indicator repeaters within the front lightsInterior Carbon dash with R500-style metal push buttons Stack ST500 rev counter. This is an extremely fancy piece of kit that has programmable shift lights, datalogging, digital speedo, 0-60, 0-100, ¼ mile times, can do lap timing and more. Controlled via a knob on the dash. Mechanical oil pressure gauge Caterham composite Tillett seats with seat pads 4 point Willans harnesses Quick release suede Momo wheel (round, not flat-bottomed) HeaterAccessories (all included in the price ) Full side screens Softbits for Sevens half hood Full hood (although note the car does not currently have hood sticks fitted). Softbits for Sevens tunnel bag Split zip tonneau with Tillett pockets “Bernard Scouse” fibreglass airbox with Pipercross filter and all fixings – backing plate attached in the engine bay. Indoor cover in good condition (just a small hole where it touched on the exhaust) Emerald Cables to connect the ECU to a laptop 3-4 litres of the correct motorsport grade oilThe private registration “C7 SUP” will also come with the car. I believe the car has been owned by several club members before me as well. The service history is really good, with a large stack of receipts. In my ownership the car has only been worked on by Andy Belcher at Tech 7. It has had a full re-wire to tidy up the under-dash area, the heater fitted and the fixing of a few poppers, plus, this week, a new alternator. I also had the black stripes applied. Andy checked the car over in May and put it through its MOT (no advisories), so it’s all ready for the summer! The car is a few years old and as such is not in mint condition, although it has been very well looked-after. Bad bits are as follows: Small crack in the NS front cycle wing (done by the previous owner) Small chip and crack in the top corner of the windscreen - has not got worse since I’ve owned the car – no impact on any MOT. Backlight on oil pressure gauge has gone Gearknob is a 6-speed knob rather than 5!It drives beautifully and is extremely responsive – weight is around 540kg (without driver) so performance is at R300 ish levels. The 1.8 is extremely torquey, but with a very strong top-end, and suits the 5-speed well. I’ve taken it on track 3 or 4 times, and it’s been brilliant fun. Pictures will follow this weekend. £14,250 but open to near offers. Happy to discuss the car at any time, just drop me a message.
