Mankee
I haven't got a Quaife knob for sale, but I do have a couple of points to make about them. Firstly, check that it's a genuine Quaife, as some nylon knobs I've seen don't have metal inserts in them. Secondly, check the thread of your current lever, as there's several variations. Think standard Caterham is 3/8" UNC but my lever was M12x1.75. A mate priced up a Quaife knob recently and it was about £27 delivered. Cheaper and lighter than a Caterham alloy knob though. catastrada
I have one (not for sale). I bought it when I replace the maincase of my gearbox (internals were already Quaife mecanisms, but maincase was the regular Ford T9) with alloy maincase + alloy cover (minus 3.5kg if I remember correctly). I thought this nylon gearknob was much lighter than Caterham one but if it is it's almost unoticeable. Mainly because the metal insert is heavy... I should find someone to have this insert made out of alloy... Edited by - Catastrada on 4 Jul 2013 14:38:
