Roger Ford
Anyone got a Kindle going cheap? Any e-paper version considered, ie. NOT a Fire / Fire HD. I want to try to convince the other half of the benefits, but don't want to spend a lot in case she hates it. Leadership Team SLR No.77 Posted June 13, 2013 Leadership Team Share Posted June 13, 2013 Roger, swmbo has recently swapped to an ipad mini, I'll ask her when I get home if her Kindle is still being used Stu.

Leadership Team SLR No.77 Posted June 13, 2013 Leadership Team Share Posted June 13, 2013 Sorry Roger, I've checked with her and she tells me it's far better for reading than her iPad so she intends to keep it! Looks like she's going to become a hoarder of electronic devises ☹️ Stu.
Member Jonathan Kay Posted June 13, 2013 Member Share Posted June 13, 2013 That's interesting: I also think the Kindle and iPad occupy distinct niches. You're welcome to borrow my Kindle if no-one comes up with one, Roger. Jonathan
Roger Ford
I'd agree with that. I've got iPad and Nexus 7 but neither are a proper substitute for the Kindle for reading. Thanks JK but she can always borrow mine.
Phil B
Roger, Don't ignore the other e-reader options. My SWMBO has a Barnes & Noble NOOK with nightglo, loves it. Battery lasts so much longer than a tablet, contrast of black on white is good, way lighter than a tablet and fits easily in her handbag. Nookie is her favourite toy Phil
Roger Ford
Not ignoring the other options but we have two kindles in the family and want to be able to share books, so I guess we're locked into the Amazon infrastructure.
