Gavinsmithartist
Hi, has anyone had experience with solar powered trickle chargers? If they work, would seem a good alternative. If not, any recommendations? Thanks. Gav
Sheds Moderator
They are OK for keeping a battery alive if the panel is in good light. If you have a power point then any battery conditioner is better.
richy
I have a £9.99 solar one from Maplin. Keeps the tin-top battery charged OK. richy
TJG
I use a £25 panel to keep the motorhome battery charged up for 3 or 4 months when it's not being used. Sits on the dash and is connected directly to the battery, copes with the alarm drain etc and works a treat. I just sourced a reasonable looking spec off the internet not really expecting it to do the job. I must stop being so cynical. Tony
