RussJing
Hi Everyone , my car K Series 1.8 VVC is experiencing over-run when the motor is turned off.(5-10 secs.) . Is this an ECU Mapping issue , or is there another reason? All other engine parameters are normal , starting/idling/acceleration etc.
ric355
Is the cooling fan running at the time? If so, they all do that. Have search for the explanation - try "emf" as the search term.

I just live with it or wait until the fan cuts out before shutting the car down. I did read something about back EMF being generated or something. spiderlane
My old K series (2004 1.8 140bhp) did exactly the same if the fan was running when we turned the car off. But I only remember it running on for 2 or 3 seconds. Never 15.

john milner
Mine does it for 3-5 seconds after a long run. Seems to be temperature related as it is more likely on a hot day and doesn't do it in the Winter.
