C7
Just having a look at Steve Carters r500.com website (awesome indeed!), and noticed a black "shroud" over the kill switch on the drivers side panel. Is that where Caterham locate the switch when you specifiy one, and does it come with that "shroud" thing? So where can I get a "shroud" like that? Are there any close-ups on the web anywhere regarding installation? Cheers JimBean
Mike Bees
That's the standard location, although some folks mount them on the scuttle just behind the aeroscreen/wind deflector (no good if you have a windscreen). The shroud is to protect the key, it comes with the switch (if you buy from Caterham). Mike
C7
The protection bit is a great idea, it looks a very neat installation. Do we know who Caterham's supplier is for the switch and shroud? Cheers JimBean
Jan T
I have lost the rubber switch cover on mine. Anyone got a spare (unlikely I guess )or know whom to contact for a replacement. I have asked Caterham but no joy as yet. Thanks Jan Edited by - Jan T on 5 Sep 2002 07:36:
scooby dooby doo
the shroud is normally known as the "eyebrow". its only a few quid and is a separate part number to the master key assembly. It bolts on using the same bolts that hold the wqindscreen stanchion (although they need to be a bit longer to go through the eyebrow) HOOPY CYCLE WINGS CUCUMBER
John E
In my live axle part list the eyebrow is under part number 77831 and Caterham do not sell the rubber cover sepparately. I lost mine and they were not able to help. Have you tried the switch manufacturer direct?

John E
My original key had Le Mans stamped on it but the new version says Welsco. Cant find a web site but try the following, they may be more accomodating than Caterham http://www.fuelsystem.co.uk/electrical.htm There is a Le-Mans motorsport site but the key etc looks different Run Baby Run

Anthony
I have an eyebrow if anyone wants one - give me a call/mail 07714 835983 anthony.burgess@cwcom.cwplc.com
ashaughnessy
I believe the eyebrow is an MSA blue book requirement if you're going racing, to protect the switch. If you're fitting a switch you should definitely fit the eyebrow. Anthony
