Connections to K Series Starter Motor Solenoid

As I have the engine out at the moment, I thought I would clean & re-grease the solenoid. I did not make a note of the connections 😳, therefore can anyone confirm that the thick red wire to the battery connects the the solenoid terminal maked 50.

50 it is. I didn't think you could fit the solenoid the other way round

 

Greasing is not recommended, because when it gets really hot the grease solidifies or something.

Did you take it apart? If so how?

 

I could not get mine apart, there seemed to be something holding it even after I took the two screws out.

The only other thing is the bus bar from the other side of the solenoid to the motor. Assuming we're talking about the Magneton starter

I do have the Magneton starter, 11 years old now

 

I just removed the two screws and it came apart.
