DaveMorris
A colleague is thinking of getting one of these - but the car only comes with 4 full seatbelts (and indeed not even a lapbelt for middle rear passenger). Unlike the coupe version of this car, which has two bucket rear seats, the Sportback could accomodate 5 people. Audi appear not to provide an option for 5 belts. Any thoughts (sensible ones ) on how a fifth (lap-)belt could be fitted, and by whom ? Dave.
rj
It could be because the car is only type approved for four occupants. I doubt that a lap belt will do nowadays. (For a newish car that is) And if the back of the seat has not been tested to be strong enough, then it's a no-go.
Tangerine Dream
I would imagine it could render your insurance invalid for the reason in the post above - ring them and find out.
myothercarsa2cv
It's a four seater, so no fifth I'm afraid. John _________________________ myothercarsa2cv Bugsy: '82 2cv6 😬 Talloulah '08 1.6K Classic
DaveMorris
Thought as much, but it seems a shame that a car that can patently fit 5 occupants is not provided with seat belts to suit. Thanks for the feedback, Dave
