Steve Cragg
Have just changed to Silicone hoses ready for Cadwell on Monday as old hoses were perished. I have car jacked up at front ready to bleed air from system but am getting a constant drip coming from the lhs of the engine dripping down on the engine mount by the exhaust. All hoses and the water rail appear dry and I can only track the source back to one of the alternator mounting bracket bolts. Its a steady drip so unless I can find it Cadwell is looking dodgy. Any ideas? Steve Superlight #
Steve T
Sure its not running down the top radiator hose from the radiator ? Steve Now with DVA Power! 191bhp and 150.9 lbft torque. My Pictures
regroo
Mine was water rail but if you are absolutely sure it isnt that then? Did you use silicone grease when you installed the hoses, it definately helped mine seal.
Steve Cragg
I'm as sure as I can be that it isn't coming from a hose joint. They are all bone dry. Water rail is probably most likely but I can't see where its coming from if it is. Steve Superlight #
Rich N
How's the seal between the top hose from radiator to water rail? Some funny angles on that hose, mine's not quite right even now.. also appears to drip from the alternator here too, although I know it's come from above. Steve Cragg
Gone round all the clips and given them a good nip. Also managed to get a little nip on the water rail studs. Fingers crossed looks OK now. The hose to the water rail needed quite a bit of tightening so it probably was that but there was no sign of any leak at all. One of lifes little mysteries Steve Superlight #
