oil amount in live axle

Recommended Posts

Until it dribbles out of the filler hole. However, if you plan on chucking the car around a lot and/or trackdays then the usual school of thought is to 'overfill' it the minimise the effects of oil surge and potential diff failure. So jack it up at the back - as high as you like and keep pouring the oil in - just keep a watch out then for oil seal failure and contaminated rear brake shoes!!!

Hope that helps

If the axle was originally caterham-prepared, it may have a third plug that sits on top of the axle. this is used to overfill the diff; fill to the bottom of the standard plug, put the standard plug back in and use the additional plug above the standard plug to add another 250-500mls.

either that or jack it up and get the extra in that way.

How's the car going now Paul?
