harvey.searle
Hi I bought a luggage rack for my seven on ebay cant quite work out how to fit it on my back wheel, can anyone tell me or even better send me a pic of one fitted that would be great thanks Harvey
Ian B
The two little hook legs go over the tyre rack either side of the number plate holder, so that the hinged bit swings out and down to rest the bag on. There should be a nylon luggage type strap with it that then wraps through and around the top of the spare wheel and the luggage rack to hold it in place. You might want to wrap the tyre rack with some thick tape to help protect it, where the little hook legs rest on it. Ian B
It's also a good idea to add a longer strap round the bag and up to the rollbar to help take some of the weight Ian - Slightly Vider SVelte SuperVeloce model 😬 - Joint AR for North Kent
virden
I agree with the idea of attaching straps to the rollbar struts, I think this is essential. For increased load capacity I fitted and over sized rectangle (250mm x 560mm) of 6mm ply to the base bar with beneficial results. At Le Mans I was able to carry 3X 24 bottle cases of beer on the rack whilst saving the "boot" for my baguettes. If you e me I can send pics I went to Santa Pod and my world changed forever. Anton
Definitely fit a pair of supporting straps up to the rollbar - I didn't, and split the rear panel! LEO 3eggs Another Slightly Vider SeVen
