Tony Wright
I'm after any possible tips to make changing the above a little easier .  The only way in looks like I'll have to climb into footwell headfirst, on my back and with a torch in mouth, then try and manhandle spring into place??? Sounds easy for a young one but at fifty and as supple as an ironing board I'm not looking forward to it 😳
Colin Mill
Take the top off the pedal box perhaps.  Oh yes, and look in the archives about the pre-load and the revised spring to get it right. Edited by - Colin Mill on 23 Jul 2009 20:27:
alan7
Take the pedal box cover off? How do you get the dead flies off your teeth....... 😬 R5AAH

Mr Locust
Unscrew the phillips head screws around the pedal box cover and do it from above? Ian Green and Silver Roadsport 😬
Colin Mill
Here is one of the treads about the clutch spring and the clutch release bearing preload. Edited by - Colin Mill on 23 Jul 2009 20:38:
Tony Wright
Sorry my mistake , my car is a BEC and the spring I'm talking about is actually attached to the clutch pedal itself as it's cable operated 🤔
northernmonkey
If the spring you mean is the one to hold the tention on the pedal when not depressed then mine's gone too... Had the pedal box apart to adjust the pedals last night (then apart again to put them back as they were...) and noticed my spring is broken... Where do you source such a thing? Ali/Yellow Academy '
Tony Wright
Yes, thats the one I'm trying hardwear shops in the morning but also thinking there may not be a lot of difference between the old type of bed springs
