Deano7
Hi, Since I've had the car the speedo occasionally jump down to zero but I mean it does it every 30 seconds or so. Could it be a problem with the pickup?
Stationary M25 Traveller
Is it a mechanical cable drive, an electronic unit from pick-up on the gearbox, or an electronic unit from pick-up on propshaft or elsewhere ?
Deano7
I would have thought it was electronic, car is 2000 Roadsport 190 with 1.8vhpd motor and 5 speed box.??? Really neeed to get underneath and have a look.
The Pikey
If it's the type which is run off a trigger wheel on the driveshaft then moving the sensor nearer the trigger wheel should sort it. jason
Deano7
Who would have thought it, sensor was down in front drivers side caliper, all it was, was a piece of grass that had wedged itself around the sensor, whiped it out put the wheel back, took for a blat and the speedo needle is back to being super smooth all the way to top speed!!!! Ye Ha!!!! *smile* Simple
