  1. Hi, I had the same problem and it's a real pain. Myn ended up being a bad connection on the earth terminal from the battery that is bolted to the engine. Try removing the bolt and sanding the terminal and the area where it bolts to and covering it with vaseline and rebolting. Myn been fine since. Deano
  2. Just sorted this out on myn, all it was a bad earth ( The wire from the battery to the side of the motor). Cleaned the corroded connector with emery and rubbed the side of the motor too, rebolted back with a new spring washer and never had a problem since ( That was a month ago) Hope this helps
  3. Who would have thought it, sensor was down in front drivers side caliper, all it was, was a piece of grass that had wedged itself around the sensor, whiped it out put the wheel back, took for a blat and the speedo needle is back to being super smooth all the way to top speed!!!! Ye Ha!!!! *smile* Simple
  4. I would have thought it was electronic, car is 2000 Roadsport 190 with 1.8vhpd motor and 5 speed box.??? Really neeed to get underneath and have a look.
  5. Hi, Since I've had the car the speedo occasionally jump down to zero but I mean it does it every 30 seconds or so. Could it be a problem with the pickup?

    Dreaded click

Just a note to people who have the dreaded click. Had problems starting when hot and eventually got worse till it click even when cold. Fitted a new solenoid and made no differenceand eventually found the problem to bad earth from battery to motor. Cleaned the connector and the plate that it bolts to and used the car all weekend with no problems at all hot or cold. It now a joy to drive all the time

  8. For sale my new Black with Red piping intatrim seats, without seatbelt cutouts as shown in link (Seatbelts come round the shoulders of the seats) here These are only around 6 months old and are as new, as I took them out of my Sylva striker before upgrading to the caterham. Cost me £360 for the pair I had them bolted directly to floor but can also be bolted to runners which they sell. They include the fitting bolts and large washers. Thought I'd give blatchaters a chance before sticking them on fleabay £250.00 for the pair. Collection from near Doncaster, South Yorkshire (a bit too bulky to post)
  9. Found the problem on this website Leaking inlet manifold gasket This is identical to where myn is leaking here Cheers I'll have to get a new gasket, wonder if it different for the roller barrel bodies, but I guess DVA power will know.
  10. Just been warming car through and noticed a small amount of steam in front of air filter. I could then see a small drip ocasionally from where the throttle body meets the engine but only from the port nearest the scuttle. Its definatly coolant as it blue water. What do you think is leaking. Better to find it now then later at a trackday. Engine is VHPD 1.8 k with roller barrel throttles. Any ideas ? ☹️ Cheers Dean
  11. I know I might sound a bit of a dumplibng but bought some new door reatining straps and new press studs which come in two parts.( The Black outer and in the internal press stud) Whats the best way of fastening these to the straps or do you just hammer them together looks to me like a special cup tool or centre punch might come in handy Cheers Dean
  12. Second Dibs on the Half Hood, I'll take it at £100 Cheers Dean
  13. Try Doncaster Laser, I know they can do Aluminium as I've just had around 150 rings laser cut for valves on submarines, they are quality guys and are very cheap compared with competition. Sounds like it will probably be a minimum order charge which I think is £35.00. Ask for Tim and mention Dean from Bolt and Nut Manufacturing put you touch. Dean
  14. Thanks mate, I wondered that myself, so if I set the immobilser and turn the isolation switch and probably take the key(as I keep the car in a garage down the road till I get my garage extended next year) there should be no problems when I re isolate and start her up again. Just wanted to check the battery thats fitted is a 12N24-4(Seems to be a lawn mower or motorcycle battery) is that the correct wet type battery?
  15. Hi, My battery has just died on my 1.8VHPD engined seven, can anyone recommend a decent replacement, it is a wet type at the moment, or should I be going for a gel type. Car is used on roads and occasional track days. Cheers Dean
