MAK
my next upgrade is planned to be replacement for the standard K series exhaust. Most likley solution being Powerspeed 4-2-1 , with a CAT,which looks like I should be able to get <£1000 hopefully. This is hoed to give small improvement in performance and be a little quieter than current system. Two questions 1) Is this generally correct? 2) I hope that passengers that the likelyhood of passengers burninfg their legs is not increased signifcantly what have other found that made this change? Cheers Malcolm
richard smith
I bought a 4-2-1 Powerspeed with a CAT last Oct. Excellent exhaust and very good service. Gives 94db at 4500 rpm instead of over 100db with the standard. But actually sounds better. The primaries get hot but the silencer doesnt seem to. Go get one. Stationary M25 Traveller
Go for it - see this thread, with photos too. The silencer is packed with glass-fibre so it is quieter than the CC original I had which was packed with stainless steel wire. The end cap can be removed so it can be repacked when required - PowerSpeed suggested approx 8000 miles (depending on use of course !). On a constant throttle it is very quiet, when you give it the beans it sounds great. The cat is built in to the silencer - it all seems to run very cool. Performance is much enhanced Can see you are on the zero meridian ..... where are you based ? Normans_Ghost
Wrap a piece of fire blanket around the pipe before you fill the can with wadding. I don't need to explain why, do I? MAK
Thanks for the info. SM25T looks a good solution on yr car, mine is an SV too. Do you have more details; Contact at Powerspeed Cost Did they cut the hole in side skin and fit how long did they take Blatmail me separate if you wish. Stationary M25 Traveller
Contact is Dave Parris Cost £598 inc supply and fitting and VAT (See other thread linked above). I kept my original (4 separate) primaries, so no changes to hole in sideskin. However, they can do it if required. I dropped car in to them at 9am, finished at 5.30pm, but they lent me their van for the day, so I went to the seaside !! They needed about 3 weeks to slot me in to their programme.
