Martin Hay-Plumb
Having got the car out for the good weather - first Blat and I come back to find an extra pint of oil in the catch tank. Also the little black cap on the catch tank is missing Any ideas what could be causing this? Could the lack of a cap on the tank (which looks like a washer bottle in the sigma installation) be sucking oil into it somehow? Or is it the other way - did the extra oil blow off the cap The dipstick is not showing overfull, thouygh obviously a bit lower than before All comments appreciated Martin Any car which holds together for a whole race is too heavy....C Chapman
The Pikey
Have you filled the oil as Caterham say? If you read the dip stick in the normal way then you have a engine thats got too much oil in it. You need to pull the D.S out, wipe it and put it back in and leave it for 30 seconds or more to read the correct level Jason
John Vine
Also the little black cap on the catch tank is missingIt's a good idea to drill a ring of holes (six, say) in the cap to increase ventilation (and stop it blowing out!). I agree with JF on how to get an accurate DS reading. JV
