Roger King
My wife's Tigra suffered a flat battery, due to nothing more complicated than leaving the lights on and it wasn't totally dead, just a bit too flat to crank the engine. So I jump started it off another car with some decent heavy duty leads. No problem, it started immediately. I then went to reverse out of the space and it wouldn't go. It took me a few seconds to realise that pressing the accelerator was having no effect on revs. That's right, it seems that if your battery runs low the electronic throttle then fails to recognise pedal movement. The upshot is that I had to get a bloke with diagnostics on to the car just to clear the fault codes, after which it runs perfectly. This took about 2 minutes, but he had to make the trip out to the car first. My wife's next car will be a Morris Minor.

Graham Perry
Make sure its one of those nice modernised Moggy's with disc brakes a 5 speed box and a twin cam engine. I went in one a couple of years ago (Fiat engine) and thought it was great
h_____
Dont do the twin cam, parts too rare and pricey tnese days, either do 1300 A series or Rover K series.

dannylt
According to this the A-series is 114kg, so the duratec should be lighter with some care!
h_____
so it wont affect the handling too much then! Big question is will it go in with out cutting into the bulkhead....I doubt it, but still do able.
Tony Whitley
There was one at Goodwood on Saturday with a turbocharged Rover V8
h_____
V8 conversions have been popular for a long time, not an easy route to take, becomes more "customise" than "modify", some of the Kseries conversions are more "modify".
