Pudding, if you have an adjustable platform you can raise the ride height but this should be done on a "flat floor" set up.

Your best bet is to get along to your nearest area meeting and the chaps there will help.

ps, you can probably get some 15" wheels in the wanted section and sell your 13" in the for sale section

Pudding,

Spoke to you and your Dad at some length at Knockhill last month ( I lived 2 doors down from his old house in Cambuslang, you should have brought the 7). As has been said it is easy with adjustable platforms but assume you don't have these or you wouldn't be asking. Should be easy to pick up a set of 15" (or 16") in the For Sale section. Can't you modify the drive with a wooden ramp or something?

Regards,

David

Have you actually measured the clearance between the ground and the bottom of the sump? CC recommend 75mm with the car loaded with 2 people. It could be your car has been setup much lower than this. It may be better as has been said to make some sort of temp mod to the driveway rather than mess with the ride heights which could upset the handling.

If you do change the ride height remember that the rear should be 15mm higher than the front otherwise you can do nasty things to the handling. Search the archives for details on where/how to measure.

Before going the Adjustable damper route take a look at the damper bodies and if lucky you may find there are quite a few grooves for the spring platforms. Given loan of coil spring clamps (essential for safety) and clip pliers you can raise the whole car for zero outlay and still get the 15mm rake

On my Se7en the issue is the old long primary 4-1 exhaust not the car/sump but that's too good to give up *smile*

As David says, it is the tyre size not the wheel size you should look at.

It is perfectly possible to get the same ride height on 13" wheels as 16" wheels just by fitting the tyre size originally specified by Caterham (185/70x13).
