Is the wet sump pan for a Caterham Rover K 1.8 the same as that for a Land Rover Freelander with a 1.8 K engine?

Orange 7 with black stripe - C7 ADD/ADO? followed you along A 25 from Betchworth till you turned off into the Tesco Express carpark at Dorking. We were in a grey/silver stripe 7. We chose a good day for a blat - or were you just shopping?

The Govt plans to bring in E10 fuel from September. It's website doesn't recognise Caterham and has no data for Rover. I have a 2003 Rover 1.8K 140bhp - does anyone know if it will be compatible with E10 or will I need to use E5 or one of the premier grades of petrol?

I've had two Softbits half-roofs. Used their own products on the first - light grey in colour - worked perfectly. Then used Renovo which left marks. So on the second one (black) I've used Softbits own from new (it's about 10 years old now) and it's still fine.

Spotted today heading north near Salfords on the A23 Bonehurst Road, opposite Selco Builders Merchants: metallic blue with silver double stripe, driver waving enthusiastically. Hope you enjoyed your blat as much as we enjoyed ours!

Spotted on Sandy Lane, Wallington around 12:30 today. We were in the white Mazda CX30 going the other way (couldn't take the Seven as we had our dog with us)

On Snowerhill Road or Tapner's Road near Betchworth in Surrey - a (metallic?) light green Seven with a black triple stripe heading towards the A25 around 10:20 this morning. We were in the white and black Mazda CX3 heading the other way. Hope you managed to avoid the rain!

Classic colours - green with yellow stripe - 19 plate heading north on The Street in Betchworth at about 10:45. We were in the white and black Mazda CX3 going the other way. That's two we've seen on successive days - a record for us!

Silver Seven, heading south on Smalls Hill Road, Leigh - you followed our white and black Mazda CX3 till we turned right at the Fox Revived.

Ian - speedo works perfectly (I've got used to the 5mph high reading) but mileometer shows 0.0 most of the time, and occasionally pops back up to the full mileage. I didn't use the car for a month or so and when I restarted it was stuck on zero. During the lay-off the battery died despite being on a trickle charger - don't know if that had anything to do with it.

I have a 2003 1.8K SV My speedo has a digital mileometer which can be set to display trip or total mileage using a button on the face. Recently the display has stuck on 0.0 and no amount of button pressing makes any difference. Any ideas how to deal with this short of sending it away for repairs?

I saw that one, too, and posted a spotted for it years back, but no reply. Not sure what colour it was, now, but I don't think it was white. Most often it was parked in the road past The Green at Warlingham. This one was on the Croydon side, outside the shops next to the junction with Tythepit Shaw Lane and Kingswood Lane

Jonathan - it's a Start 52 serial XR, so it's not one of those listed, a couple of years old and a present from one of my sons. RJ I hope the GPS ISN'T on its way out....... I'll have a go at their Forum - to see if I can avoid the factory restart and re-insertion of loads of data, or if/how to save them to an external store and then recover them

I have a small TomTom Start SatNav mounted in a head-up display position and usually use it's speed display rather than my speedo. Recently I've noticed sudden variations in speed displayed although I am cruising at a steady speed. For example showing a steady 40 mph, suddenly jumping up to 48 say before dropping back to 40. Anybody any idea if this means the SatNav is faulty or is it something to do with satelite signals being interfered with by things like trees or buildings?

ISTR I've been spotted about three times since 2003 over something like 160k miles in two Sevens. Re Hurricanes - both Biggin Hill and Croydon airport had Hurricane squadrons during the war - but (apart from me and my Sevens living in Croydon) I can't think of a link.........

Looking back over 52 spots, only 8 replies! Are there a lot more owners who aren't members than there used to be? Or members who don't look at Blatchat?
