  1. Take the screen off!!    Did some times at Dunsfold years ago, tried using Ist and going to the limiter in 2nd 6.0sec. Then tried starting in 2nd and up to the limiter.....6.0...no difference! Took the screen off 5.4 sec! Tyre pressure makes a difference.

  2. I sent an answer but it seems to have disappeared!

I presume it`s the Sigma/Zetec SE engine. Has it just started or has it always done that?  What speed does it idle at when hot?

Sounds like idle mixture is wrong......could be several things......Lambda sensor failing (in exhaust)......air leak in inlet manifold ( rubber tube split, blanking cap leaking).... Error in throttle potentiometer setting (it is very sensitive at idle setting position)......Does it pop and bang a lot when lifting off throttle?   Does it have high fuel consumption? Does it `kangaroo`/ when driving off from low speed/stopped?

  3. There have been cases of the cam cover seal being damaged and leaking a dribble down that way.

Has the floor or rear end of the car got oil on it?

  4. I had similar so I drilled a small hole at the lowest point of the bell housing to prove where it was coming from...it was and has always been dry inside....I have blown the dipstick out on a few occasions..that`s quite messy! Your oil does look clean so could be gearbox....I know you have the Mazda box but the Ford type 9 used to leak from the selector rails and dribble down in that area. Has the oil slick spread on the underside of the floors or on to the A frame/Dedion? Mark the clutch fluid level on the reservoir and monitor it.                I worry more when mine stops dripping!!

  5. Does a 310R have an oil cooler?

I thought 10/50 was recommended for race engines

Do you do a cooling off lap at the end of the quick ones/race?

I have come in from quick laps with very hot oil and no obvious pressure on the gauge. Its not been a problem so far but I tend to keep some revs on the engine when coming in to avoid low pressure and not sit in the pit queue at idle.
